Biography of Gerri R. Colton

 

 

 

Gerri Colton is the principal of Technical & Medical Advisors, a firm that locates experts in all specialties for attorneys nationally.  Some of the specialty areas of experts include physicians in all areas of practice, engineers, accident reconstruction and all other areas of technical experts. Gerri has located experts on numerous cases that have provided attorneys the instrumental information, expertise and knowledge necessary to successfully resolve their cases by way of verdict or settlement.  Gerri has located both the most prominent medical and technical experts that have allowed attorneys to achieve multi-million dollar verdicts. One example of her successes in locating critical experts includes locating an expert who was a former employee of a firm that had the necessary documents to help achieve a multi-million dollar verdict in an ERISA/RICO case.

Gerri is the first non-attorney to ever hold a Board of Governors position in any Trial Lawyer Organization.  She has been extremely active in many Bar Associations including holding positions as:

 Additionally, Gerri has been very active in membership recruitment and has received the award for most members recruited for CAOC in 1993, 1994,1995.  She has participated in numerous PAC drives and legislative efforts both in California and nationally. 

Gerri was a guest lecturer at the Western Trial Lawyers� Annual Ski Seminar, Whistler, Canada, March, 2005, The Consumer Attorneys of California 42nd Annual Convention in Monterey, April 2003. The Consumer Attorneys of California Annual Tahoe Seminar, 2000:Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers on their Anatomy for Lawyers Seminar, April 1997. Gerri was the first woman speaker at the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers Annual Convention, 2002 on Substance Abuse. She additionally spoke at the Western Trial Lawyers Annual Convention, 2003. She has frequently been a speaker at various CAOC Conventions and seminars. She has written an article on Locating and Retaining Experts that was published in the Consumer Attorneys of California monthly publication, Forum, October 1996. The article has also appeared in ATLA�s New Lawyers Forum newsletter, May, 1997 edition, Western Trial Lawyers Chronicle magazine and Calendar Call, The General Practice Section of the Georgia State Bar, Spring, 1998. She has additionally written an article �Some Tips in Making Your Expert Part of the Winning Team� that has been published in numerous legal magazines.
